When is the best time for a Tanzania safari?

The dry season (June to October) offers the best wildlife viewing and Mara River crossings. December to March is calving season in the southern Serengeti and offers superb predator action.
Do I need a visa?

Most travelers require a visa, available online through the Tanzania eVisa portal or on arrival at Kilimanjaro (JRO). Allow 10 business days for online processing.
What vaccinations are required?

A Yellow Fever certificate is required if you're arriving from a country with risk of Yellow Fever. Consult your travel doctor about routine and recommended vaccinations.
How should I pack?

Neutral, layered clothing (khaki, olive, sand), a warm layer for early morning drives, closed shoes, hat, sunscreen, binoculars and a good camera. Avoid bright colors and camouflage.
Is Tanzania safe for families?
